2015 in Review

In 2015 Kickincrochet sold one more pattern than in 2014 (counting pattern sets as only one pattern). I’ll take that kind of consistency! Overall income was down because I have been phasing out the sale of finished items on Etsy. I still have plenty of products there but I no longer make finished items for the sole purpose of selling them. The only new products that get added to Etsy, besides pattern PDF’s, of course, are the items I made while creating the pattern. 🙂

My goal for the year was to create at least one new pattern per month, on average. I didn’t accomplish that goal, but I’m still happy with the new patterns available in 2015. I started off in March with the Allison Scarf and Blanket/Scarf Set, which were a lot of fun to make, and beautiful in person. I also published a free pattern for a hairpin lace blanket, as well as a video tutorial that have been very popular. New legwarmers for my daughter came next, with a new yarn that I am really wanting to try to use to make a hairpin lace dress because I love the little bit of shine and think it will drape nicely. At long last, I finally made a hat to go with the ever-popular Men’s Thermal Fingerless Gloves so I can sell them as a set. The Dunes scarf stretched my creativity a little when it came to joining those funky little turns, the Tricolor Infinity Scarf was a fun use of my Split Stitch technique (which I still need to make a video for), and of course my son’s Diamond scarf, which I love love love. That boy knows how to  pick great color! I finished off the year with three projects in the works, so hopefully that will jump start my continuing goal to create at least a pattern per month. I have a few friends and family members with babies on the way, so I foresee some baby gear this summer, as well. Happy new year!
